We're reinventing the traditional plat book business by providing customers with a suite of products and services, including digital/mobile formats, GIS data, and custom mapping to help customers run their operations more effectively. By leveraging our website, we offer consumers a convenient way to get the most accurate and up-to-date information available nationwide.

Research – At the start of a plat mapping project, Rockford Map researchers spend time going through county records and data making sure all information is up-to-date and accurate according to county sources.

Cartography / Mapping – A team of professional cartographers and GIS techs update each county verifying base map and ownership information, correlating all data from public sources and third-party data providers.

Advertising Sales – The sales team works with local, regional, and national businesses to come up with a plan that will provide the best exposure and value for the advertiser's budget.

Pre-Press / Production – The gateway between our valued advertisers and the final plat book, they design and produce ads for the printed plat books and online advertisers.

Marketing – The marketing staff is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of marketing and comunication on behalf of Rockford Map. The team maintains the website, newsletter, social media, promotions, and all other corporate literature.

Licensing – The licensing department stays on top of RMP's copyrights and reproduction requests. They handle renewals and new members on a daily basis and grant fair use licenses in appropriate circumstances.

Customer Service – The customer service team helps customers find the products that will fit their needs. They answer the phone, chat online, and reply to emails all with a smile on their face - guaranteed!

Advertising Sales Executive

Location: Rockford, IL, US

Rockford Map has an opening for an Advertising Sales Executive which will help with our exciting expansion across the country.  

Core Responsibilities
• Conduct pre-sale market planning and research
• Renewing and up-selling existing advertisers
• Cold calling on advertisers in new territories
• Build relationships with accounts to facilitate future renewals

Key Competencies
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of MS Office software
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
• Strong sales skills with the ability to close sales with new customers
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to manage workload and work effectively in a team environment 

Education and Experience
Three to five years proven experience in sales and marketing (preferably B2B) with prior employer.  Previous advertising sales experience is a plus.  A four year college or university degree is preferred, but not required.
